Top Tens: Garth Brooks

Postby Drew on August 5th, 2008, 8:00 pm

Hey y'all, so I just thought I'd throw this idea out there, that being that every few days or so I'll put up a thread for each of you to list your top 10 songs (or top 5 if you want to narrow it down) from the designated artist, with the first week being Garth Brooks. They don't have to be put in order if you don't want, and you can either just list them or write descriptions about the songs, but I thought we could get some good discussion going about some country artists this way and all their hits, or maybe even learn about some songs you hadn't heard before that other users enjoy. So here goes, and remember... everyone is different in their tastes, so let's try to keep it civil if somebody picks song(s) you disagree with! I'll start it off...

10. Ain't Going Down
9. In Lonesome Dove
8. Unaswered Prayers
7. Thunder Rolls
6. Friends In Low Places
5. More Than A Memory
4. She's Every Woman
3. The River
2. Much Too Young
1. Rodeo

Wow. I was into the *8th* Google page and still no mention of the original Calling Baton Rouge from New Grass Revival. If you haven't heard their original version, check it out. That's one thing I've always admired about Garth. He often picked songs to give a shout out to the originator. That's why I didn't hold it against him when he went public about "cheating songwriters" by buying used CDs.
