Mark McGuinn - Mrs. Steven Rudy
David Ball - Thinking Problem, Riding w/Private Malone
Cyndi Thomson - What I Really Meant To Say
Ty England - Should Have Asked Her Faster....actually I like a lot of album cuts on all 3 of his albums
Julie Roberts - Break Down Here, Men & Mascara, Wake Up Old (love this song)
Steve Azar - I Don't Have to Be Me Til Monday (which my radio plays ALL the time still), Waiting On Joe
Jessica Andrews - Unbreakable Heart, Who I Am, More to Me Than You
Mandy Barnett - Now That's All Right With Me
Eric Heatherly - Counting Flowers on the Wall

My mind can't think of many others, but I know there are tons more.

Isn't the whole concept of "one hit wonder" by definition a singer who only has one big hit or top 10 hit? if so then artists like Chad Brock and Kevin Sharp can't be one hit wonders.

True dat, but I was going by the criteria Drew set forth. I guess Kevin Sharp is more of a one-album wonder.

Yeah, he was a "one album wonder" although I liked his 3 CDs. I think there are a TON of people who would qualify as one hit wonders.

Honestly, Mark McGuinn had 2 more hits ("She Doesn't Dance" and "That's A Plan" that both went Top 20-25 so he'd fall under the arbitrary list still But people will remember him as a 'one hit wonder.'
For Example, Sons of the Desert had more than one hit. "Hand of Fate," "What I Did Right" & "Leaving October" before the band went their separate ways.

In general I think that 'one hit wonders" is more common in pop music than country at least historically Although country has seen an increase in such things.

It used to be that in country music, if someone had one hit, then it was pretty much a given that their next single or two would get some airplay. But that really doesn't seem to be the case any longer.

Historically, there have been plenty of one-hit wonders in the country charts by pop singers who crossed over. I'm thinking of the Carpenters (Sweet sweet smile) and Bonnie Tyler (It's a heartache) in particular, but there have been plenty of others. On bona-fide country singers, I suspect that C W McCall is regarded as a one-hit wonder though he isn't really. And there's people like Jeannie C Riley, who had a series of hits but is only really remembered for one. There's a lot like that.

Personally, I'm always wary of classifying people as one-hit wonders anyway. It depends what charts you use and how you define a hit. Based on the British charts, most country singers have no hits and most of those that have hits only have one of any size, however minor. In the American pop charts, they do better but there would still be a lot of one-hit wonders.

Canada has its own country chart. Michelle Wright has had 5 #1 hits there and several other big hits too so she's not exactly forgotten in her homeland.

There's a multi-volume CD collection by Rhino (I think) called One Hit Wonders. It classfies a one hit wonder as anyone who only hit the pop charts one time. They have Lynn Anderson included for Rose Garden, because that's the only pop hit she had. But no country fan would refer to her as a one hit wonder.

There are several people on Jordan's list that I would not consider one hit wonders -- especially since they have only had one album - which means that they have a chance to score another hit with a new album --

Sadly many of favorite artists are being listed --

The Warren Brothers scored 7 Top 40 singles from 1998-2003. I still am surprised that they didn't become a star duo. They may not be 'traditional' country but they put out some good stuff. I like that Robert Ellis Orrall album (and the Orrall & Wright release). I too like many of the 'one hit wonders' listed by Jordan.
