Oddy - I stand corrected. I purchased both the Harper Valley PTA album and single when they were first issued but the 45 is no longer in my possession. I also had Plantation #1,#2 and several other Plantation singles courtesy of a DJ friend (I've since forgotten which song it was) but I quit collecting singles about 1974 and sold most of them off)

Omni Records in Australia are to release an anthology of artists on Shelby Singleton's Plantation/SSS-International labels, mostly country, with some novelty records and recitation numbers.
To get an idea of where the collective Omni head's are at: http://www.worldwentdown.com/omni/

Two Riley tracks are to be featured, I suppose if this set does well, there might be a chance of proper reissues of her Plantation material.

The Koch reissue of her Little Darlin' demos is a bit of a hodge podge, some tracks are from the 1968 albums masters, some from the 1969 Capitol mixes, and some seem to be from a much later mix, possibly intended for release in the late 70s when Little Darlin' was revive for a time.
Sadly, most of the Little Darlin' reissues from Koch suffer from second rate source material and remixes as much as being sourced from original masters.

It's worth noting that although Riley's debut album was indeed the first album on Plantation (PLP-1), her debut single was PL-3, not PL-1 as suggested.

I was sixteen when "Harper Valley PTA" was released so perhaps percolating hormones affected my initial reaction to Jeannie C. Riley because, as Matt C noted, she really was a babe. I didn't hear much more of her for the next two years as my Dad was transferred overseas and, other than "Harper Valley PTA" , the BBC didn't play any of her songs.

I returned to the U.S. in August 1970 and when she started recording for MGM is when I really became a fan.

During the Harper Valley PTA days, Jeannie frequently showed up on nationally televised shows; much less so after that. I have not seen her in a good 17-18 years but she was then still an extraordinarily attractive woman and I suspect that she remains so

I hope she records some secular music again someday. She deserves to be heard again
