Thought I'd mention Junior Brown's wonderful tribute, "My Baby Won't Dance to Nothin' But Ernest Tubb" as evidence the man and music aren't forgotten.

I also came here to jump on you for using the term "forgotten". E.T. will never be forgotten by me. My grandparents were huge music fans who met Mr. Tubb in Nashville in 1959. His vocal imperfections made him even more intesting to listen too. He was raw and real. He never forgot us. He would recognize us if he saw us in Nashville Tennessee or Houston Texas. This man never ran from his fans. He loved them. He was one great man.

I agree Barry, but the term means "forgotten" in a more general sense.

"Forgotten" by nobody who's known him. Maybe unknown to some who know nothing about country--but ya can't all that "forgetting."

I think I once heard WSM DJ Eddie Stubbs say that he plays at least one E.T. song on every one of his live broadcasts because of how important E.T. was in the history of country music. So thankfully E.T. isn't forgotten at WSM or the Opry.

Great stuff, I too am a big fan. Not sure how much of a "forgotten artist" he is though. I would hope that most traditional country fans are at least somewhat familiar with him.
