Warner Bros Nashville VP/A&R Tracy Gershon has left the building. She is well-known to have two of the best “ears” on Music Row, which she shared with us as one of the judges on a previous season’s Nashville Star on the USA Network.

Tracy Gershon began her career in the music industry by booking concerts for the University of California Santa Barbara. After graduation, she went to work for Avalon Attractions as a concert promoter, and in 1982, went to work for Backstreet/MCA Records as Senior Director of Creative Services.

Her passion for country music led her to start her own management company, representing Warner/Reprise Artist Rosie Flores and Curb Artist Jann Browne. While maintaining her management company, she was also hired as a song-plugger by EMI Music and then re-located to Nashville, where she was made Director of Creative Services for EMI Nashville.

Tracy Gershon has signed some of Music’s most prolific acts, including The Mavericks, Joe Ely, Carlene Carter, James House and Miranda Lambert.

She currently sits on the Board of Directors of Leadership Music, NARAS, and The Actors Bridge Theater Group.”

WOW, she started off as a manager for Jann Browne while still based here in Los Angeles. I think I may be in love! (lol)

The celebrity competitors on the upcoming “Dancing with the Stars” season have been announced and the only two male participants are Lance Bass and 18 year old Cody Linley (from Hannah Montana). So the real question is which lucky guy will get Julianne Hough as his dancing partner? By dancing with Cody Miss Julianne will score a direct hit with the Hannah Montana core audience and may watch her album sales skyrocket to Taylor Swift like levels! (Well maybe anyway…) On the other hand Julianne’s current pretty boy-toy Chuck Wicks would much rather see Julianne paired with Lance Bass, who’s dancing skills reportedly improved dramatically after he came out of the closet….(lol)
