    Hey 9513ers,
There’s a brand new blog that just started this week at the Country Standard Time web site – Outskirts of Country. Rick Teverbaugh is writing about “almost anything that I believe has or is being overlooked and/or under publicized under the broadest of umbrellas that contain country music.” Lots of writing about Americana and alt.-country.

    It’s at http://www.countrystandardtime.com/blog/outskirtsofcountry/

    Enjoy

That Jamey Johnson article was hilarious.

I can’t say with any amout of honesty that “Rockin’ The Beer Gut” is a country song. The video’s funny, I’ll give it that.

Jimmy Wayne has a voice on him, but I still feel like 98 Degrees is missing a member until they get him a country song. He’s too talented to be siging this kind of stuff.

Here’s the problem I run into with Jack Ingram. I listen to him, and I like his music – I really do. But then I decide to throw in a Tom Petty CD and go “Yeah, this is better.”

I’m envious of Asleep at the Wheel’s Honky Tonk skills… and the fact thay they sing with Willie like it’s no big deal.

Wow, how I missed that is beyond me.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Ferlin Husky. My favorite song of his is “Teddy Bear,” by far.
