I’d have to say that my favorite period of country music is the second half of the 70s. That’s the stuff that really fires me up and holds my attention even after hundreds of listens.

I will always be an unapologetic lover of the alt country sub genre. Son Volt, Magnolia Electric Co., Todd Snider, Bonnie Prince Billy all have new albums out this year and I couldn’t be happier. I love this music because it mixes country with folk and rock, and listening to it is like jumper cables for the soul.

I have to go with Jordan, as I love the 90’s because it is when I started to love country — but then again, I also love outlaw country and love Patsy, etc.
