WOW!! Didn’t realize there were alot of toned deaf people out here. “Belongs to You” is absolutely GREAT!! I’ve heard it live & online & on radio.. you’d have to have a heart to get the song. Brad’s voice and his emotion in singing the song is wonderful. I support these guys all the way. Their music is fantastic and they are not getting the credit they deserve. If I had someone sing that song to me or dedicate it to me, it would mean so much that they feel that I deserve so much. Listen to the words and listen w/your heart & maybe just maybe you may get a different view on this song in a positive note!!!

Jennifer, it’s not jealously when it’s just a generally bad song. I’m an Emerson Drive fan, and I can’t stand this song. The fact that Jimmy Wayne was the first to record this song (he of the “So I’m supposed to drop my pants at the airport” fame), and his two most recent singles have been utter rubbish, doesn’t help your cause.

Emerson Drive came to Valparaiso University a couple years ago as part of a concert series, and stole the show. But that doesn’t save a song like this.

“Moments” was a big hit for them. I always had mixed feelings about the song; because while it is very predictable and formulaic, it is still written so very well and “does its job”. And the performance and recording are also very well done.

So many popular “Country” songs are like that. You can see the theme, lyrics, and even arrangement coming from a MILE away. There are no welcome surprises or departures. But they are trying … SO …. HARD …..

I happen to think this song is great. Emerson Drive is an amazing band with TALENT (and you would know that if you ever went to a concert). The first time I ever saw them in concert (and I didn’t even know their music; I was dragged there by some friends)I fell absolutely in love with them… They are amazing performers and keep the crowd on their feet… Brad has an amazing voice and I think he can make any song sound good. I believe this review was a bit harsh. You can’t expect every song released by an artist to be upbeat and happy. For the record they didn’t even write the song and weren’t the only ones to perform this… It was performed first by Jimmy Wayne but Emerson Drive was chosen as the band to release it… Having a friend who is in the music industry I know it’s not easy to please everyone and I’m sorry that you feel this song is horrible but that’s just your OPINION, there are plenty of people out there (ED fans or not) that would totally disagree with the negativity being protrayed here… These guys are finally getting the recognition they deserve and I think you will be seeing more and more of them as the years go by. By the way, I agree with some of the other posts… that pic is great and I happen to think they all look very handsome… as for David, well he wouldn’t be David without that cowboy hat on…

Emerson Drive is one of the BEST bands out there. Its a shame that there are jealous, ignorant people who can’t realize great talent like these guys. I fell in love w/”Belongs to You” the first time I ever heard it at a concert of theirs. It touches the heart, its a LOVE song, so if you have love in your heart then you would understand this song. Brad & the guys do a fabulous job performing and singing it. I love all their music. Keep up the Great Work Guys.. You still have my support all the way.

If you know Canadian Country, you know a lot more than 3 Emerson Drive hits. I’m not that big of an Emerson Drive fan, and this song here is just awful.. but they do have a few other good songs that (I assume) never got released in the States. The song “Testify” is a great example of contributions from every band member.. and I’m sure helped everyone win their CCMA nominations for the “all-star band.” On “Testify” they all took turns soloing. Other good Emerson Drive songs include “Waitin’ On Me,” “If You Were My Girl” and “Countrified Soul.”
