Hillman also praises Parsons all over the book. It doesn’t really come across as mean-spirited, unless you go in with the idea that any criticism is mean-spirited by definition.
Also, I’d love it if more people got to hear Alecia Nugent.

I’ve been to the Riverfront concerts before (at $12 a day) and loved them. Wish I lived there, I’d do it again. But even with free shows, a weeks hotel expense is more than I can spare right now.

When I saw Chris Hillman and the Desert Rose Band perform last fall Chris had nothing but nice things to say about Gram Parsons from the stage. In fact a couple of times Chris said his days writing songs with Gram in the late 60’s were the most creative and productive of his life.
If I ever made it to Nashville and Fan Fair I think I’d just stay at the Riverfront Stage. I like most of the artists that perform there but not the Top 20 types featured at the big nightly stadium shows. That Saturday line-up is mighty impressive!
Looks like I’ll have to start searching for a cheap copy of Wayne Hancock’s new album. Sounds like my kind of country music…

The best thing financially that’s ever happened to Ashley was getting her composition “Flat On The Floor” on Carrie’s last album. I hope that history repeats itself on Carrie’s next album so that Carrie’s dedicated fanbots like Northy can help support Ashley! (lol)
PS – In which marketplace are they hoping for Alecia Nugent to be a “breakout success”? Isn’t she already doing well in bluegrass land? Hmmm…

Rick, Ashley is also writing with Miranda Lambert some, and last time I heard, she had a cut or two on Mirandas new album. So thats pretty exciting for her. I hate to see such a talented and genuine person go so unnoticed.

Off Topic: Dan Huff Alert! All you Dan Huff fans will enjoy Alison Bonaguro’s article about Dan at the CMT.com blog site. It kind of sums up Dan’s production style in these comments:

She’s on the verge of helping Randy Travis gain his first #1 single in years and a possible song writer Grammy nomination so why wouldn’t Bill Anderson, Ashley Monroe & Vince Gill want to write with her. As for being a fanbot…I’m a little old for that sort of thing. LOL!
