Jessica: "Definitely will be making a road trip to Nashville to see the exhibit."
Brody: "Me too, as soon as gas prices drop below three dollars again."
Chris N: "You will not be seeing that exhibit."

I read something similar on Yahoo earlier. But isn't the show in its final season anyway? Can't she just suck it up and honor her contract?

On the bright side, if she does get out of fulfilling her obligations, maybe Disney will cancel Billy Ray's recording contract.

Breaking News Alert!!!!! (From TMZ via the Hollywood Rag Celebrity Gossip Website)

"Miley Cyrus Wants To Say GoodBye Disney - Hello Singing Career!

Miley Cyrus is reportedly trying to get fired from TV show 'Hannah Montana' so she can focus on singing. The 15-year-old actress is said to be so desperate to leave the hit series that shot her to fame she has been arriving late on the set, stalling production and annoying cast and crew members, according to gossip website
TMZ.com.

Her father Billy Ray Cyrus, who also appears in the programme, allegedly supports her antics as he thinks she will make more money from her singing career than the Disney show.

Billy Ray has reportedly been boasting Miley will film just 12 more episodes before leaving the show. However, when furious Disney bosses learnt of his comments they are believed to have immediately called his agent and branded both him and Miley as "ingrates".

Disney also insisted Miley finishes all 24 episodes in the season as planned and also decided to add six more shows to the run.

Miley's close friend Emily Osment is reportedly so upset at her co-star's behavior she is refusing to talk to her when they are not filming.

Emily's father is said to have accused Billy Ray and Miley of behaving unprofessionally, resulting in a heated argument between the two men."

Rick's comments: Miley only has her so-called singing career because she is Hannah Montana! If she leaves the show she will likely be history in no time as her "tween" fan base will likely lose interest when they don't see her on The Disney Channel on a daily basis.

If this article is true and Billy Ray is really supporting Miley is this descision, then I guess foolishness runs in the Cyrus family gene pool...

Craig, whenever I attend country concerts here in the Los Angeles area I always scan the audiences for the racial mix as LA is so diverse. At the big Stagecoach Festival this year I did see a smattering of black families and Latinos, but they constituted a tiny percentage of the crowd. Maybe if LA had a country radio station that played something besides current Top 40 crap it would expand the reach.

As for current black country artists besides Darius, Rissi Palmer has made a few minor dents in the country charts and Rhonda Towns has a new single out titled "Slow Rain" with Dobie Gray as one of the co-writers.
Link: http://www.rhondatowns.com/page/page/1935154.htm

In the Latino realm (apart from Gabe Garcia) CURB has dabbled its toe in the market with Star De Azlan and Rick Trevino recorded a new album a couple of years ago that wasn't released after the fine single "Overnight Success" went nowhere on the charts. If the demographic guru's at Top 40 country radio aren't actively targeting audience members of color, then its not going to be a priority with them as far as the artists they include in their limited playlists. The fact Darius is so well known and respected from "Hootie" made his skin color almost irrelevant, which would not be the case for an unknown new artist. Coffey did well on Nashville Star, so maybe there's hope!

As an aside: The Americana Realm in comparison embraces diversity in its artists. The Top add at Americana radio this week is Taj Mahal's new album and B.B. King is number five.....

Stormy,

while one could argue that, they usually are chosen because they reflect the scene, just the way popular music may fit in a feature film.

"This is my life's goal," Swift continues, "to have a song on 'Grey's Anatomy.'

I'm waiting for Jim or Ben to tell us all that's not nearly as shallow as it seems.

In the immortal words of Juno McGuff "Woah, dream big."

But seriously, aren't songs on TV shows a form of product placement?
