Congratulations To The Grammy Winners And Garth Brooks To Own A Studio
- Everybody else is already talking about the Grammys, so we’re not going to write an in depth article about the significance of the Dixie Chicks taking homes five awards and such, but congratulations to them for their wins in: Best Country Album, Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal, Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, and Song Of The Year. Other country artists who won and deserve some congratulations are: Carrie Underwood for New Artist and Female Country Vocal Performance, Randy Travis for Southern, Country, or Bluegrass Gospel Album, Rick Rubin for Producer Of The Year, Vince Gill for Male Country Vocal Performance, Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles for Country Collaboration With Vocals, Bryan Sutton and Doc Watson for Country Instrumental Performance, and Brett James, Hillary Lindsey and Gordie Sampson for Country Song.
- The staff at MySA.com keeps up the good reviews of the performances at the San Antonio Rodeo. Hector Saldaña wrote about the “full frontal assault” from Sugarland, Jim Kiest talks about the aw-shucks modesty and two hit-filled performances put on by Alan Jackson, and John Goodspeed follows it all up with a country romp from Josh Turner.
- Jot Benjamin Cossel down as another critic of today’s so called country music. For those of you looking for real country music, he has a few suggestions for you: Hank III, Wayne Hancock, Dale Watson, J.B. Beverley & The Wayward Drifters, and Neko Case. Once again, I agree that there’s something wrong with the state of country music on the radio, but I don’t think going around bashing specific mainstream artists while promoting a guy you have a vested interested in is the way to get anything done. I like some of the artists he mentioned, while I’m not too crazy about others.
- Garth Brooks says he misses the people in Nashville and word has it that he may purchase a studio there. I’d like to seem him get back in the country music scene just to see what kind of stuff he’d put out.

Wow, the Dixie Chicks cleaned up! I think people are still voting against Bush. They must feel a little vindicated, now that most of the world agrees that Bush led us into an illegal war, and can’t get us out of it. I’m glad they won.
But I wish Willie would have won, though. His, “You Don’t Know Me: The Songs of Cindy Walker” was truly the BEST country music album this year.
imho

I was kind of on the fence between the Alan Jackson album and the Willie Nelson album and then neither one of them ended up winning.
