Opry Alert! (Last Minute Version…) Tonight’s Opry will include The Carolina Chocolate Drops, Chris Young, Little Big Town, and (sadly) Montgomery Gentry! Well, 3 out of 4 ain’t bad. (lol) Now if they could just lose the “Opry Legends” on Tuesday nights they’d have something really goin on! Gee, I hope the Drops do their version of “Hit ‘Em Up Style” so I can hear Rhiannon’s amazing vocal work.

I’m glad to see two of the three Lovell Sisters are back in action as a team BUT that name might be a bit of a problem. Michelle Poe hasn’t scored at radio yet either as a solo artist or as half of Burns & Poe. The Larkins never scored at radio either. So when you combine two names of artists that haven’t done well at radio you may be bringing some unanticipated baggage along! (jk – lol)

Gosh, I haven’t heard of most of those artists on the release list. By the way, will there be a Kristin Kelly give away contest by any chance?

Ruby Jane has what it takes to be an integral part of the thriving Texas / Oklahoma concert circuit but I just don’t know if she’ll be able to expand outside that market, like say to Los Angeles! Her music is interesting enough to actually catch my attention, and that’s a tough sell these days…

I was two when I played a yellow, plastic souvenir Opry Land guitar from the cheap seats, back in 1978. I think Porter Waggoner was on stage, but I was crazy blitzed on otter pops, so who can be so it’s hard to be sure.

Don’t forget that Marty Stuart was 12 years old when he joined Lester Flatt’s band and he played on the Opry with Lester during that time.

I actually think by her having two songs in those categories will increase her chances of winning them. most people thought ‘House’ would be nominated for these awards so it’s still likely the favorite to win.

I wonder how vote splitting is gonna affect Lambert’s chances of winning in those categories where she’s been nominated more than once.
