Tralier has done his usual great job with the album titles at Photocrap. My favorites today include Billy Ray (the best!), Crossin Dixon, and the Zac Brown Band. Best “truth in advertising awards” go to Sugarland and Craig Morgan. Keep up the good work!
I so wish our cable system offered RFD TV as I’d really like to see Marty’s weekly variety show. It would be worth watching just to see Eddie Stubbs doing comic bits as he’s usually solemn as an undertaker.
As for Shooter’s new song “Outlaw Sh*t”, I must say that every time I see Shooter’s name one of those two words always springs to mind….

That Crowell quote sounds very much like something I might steal for a certain recurring Sunday feature.
Thanks for bringing the free Waylon download to my attention. I’m still undecided about picking up a copy of that album.

You could always listen to the stream on CMT before you make a decision.

the version of ‘outlaw shit’ is chilling. ‘i found the body’ is ominous and the version of ‘ain’t living long like this’ beats the original. yes, i said it beats the original. i just wish there were more than 8 tracks. now–if we can just get shooter to release the original industrial version of this. i, for one, am eager to hear such an animal. :)

I guess Craig Morgan’s complaining got him into the Opry after all…
October 24, 2008 at 3:43 pm Permalink
Josh, enlighten me please. What did Craig complain about?
October 24, 2008 at 4:46 pm Permalink
I think I remember hearing he said something about, I think it was Carrie Underwood, when she was inducted. He said he was surprised or something to that effect. So not necessarily complaining, but I do remember the comment.
October 24, 2008 at 5:57 pm Permalink
It was someone in his band complaining that Carrie Underwood was inducted before him, which is stupid. He’s made little impact, besides “What I Love About Sunday”, while Carrie is a superstar. I find Craig deathly boring, the super-country person gets old very quickly.

Please expound on “the super-country person gets old very quickly.”

Opry “Bummer, Dude” Alert:
Kristy Lee Cook makes her Grand Ole Opry debut on Saturday night BUT she will not be included during the GAC “Opry Live” cable broadcast segment! Instead we get Craig Morgan’s Opry induction with Jon Conlee and the other artists are Chuck Wicks and Rodney Atkins. I’d much rather watch Kristy perform than any of those guys….

I’m going to check out that Waylon song despite Shooter’s name being attached. As always, thanks for the publicity… I owe ya’ll about 15% of every dime I’ve made (which after taxes equals $0).

Craig Morgan is garbage. :(
October 25, 2008 at 12:16 am Permalink
Rick, I’m guessing you’d rather watch her perform because if you’re gonna listen to ‘airhead,’ it is better to watch a pretty ‘airhead?’
October 25, 2008 at 3:10 pm Permalink
Brody, I guess with some artists they have to emphasize how country they really are, and it gets old for me very very fast. I don’t care whether someone’s country or not, as long as it’s good music. If someone’s country, great, but they don’t have to explicitly tell me on every single.
October 25, 2008 at 4:01 pm Permalink
Rick: Why? I spent two months last year trying to figure out why the other show let Kristy Lee Cook perform.
I wonder if the GOO has a Voet for the Worst as well….
October 25, 2008 at 4:57 pm Permalink
I really wonder why Kristy Lee Cook is having a fair amount of success while somebody much more personable, attractive, and talented in Whitney Duncan can’t seem to break through.
October 25, 2008 at 5:13 pm Permalink
Duncan’s first single is still very bland, she seems to have a nice voice though. Maybe future singles will be better.

Matt, You’re right on the money! (lol)
Stormy, if you were a gay female you would understand why us guys find Kristy Lee Cook so attractive physically. With a face and body like that who cares how she sings? (jk)
Drew, Kristy was seen by millions of people on American Idol and Whitney Duncan was seen by tens of thousands on Nashville Star, so its not too hard to figure why Kristy is getting the jump at radio. Whitney has co-written some nice songs so she should have chosen a stronger debut single. I’ve come to the conclusion that being a competitor on Nashville Star is seen as a big negative by airhead country radio programmers, so Whitney is starting off under the black Nashville Star cloud……
October 25, 2008 at 11:09 pm Permalink
Kristy Lee is certainly something to look at… but I think Whitney Duncan is even more attractive, that Southern belle look always gets me. Plus I just find Kristy Lee so uninteresting thus far… she hasn’t given her audience any sort of personality to connect with.
October 26, 2008 at 12:16 pm Permalink
Well here i go let me start that kristy lee is certainly hot but if you remember back to American Idol when she sang she always wore the boob shirts to play on her looks instead of relying on her vocal abilities. that made me not really care for her because she was suppose to be there on her abilities more than her looks, america voted i believe more on her looks than her vocals and what was up with the little pig nose schrunches when she say they were really annoying
October 26, 2008 at 1:09 pm Permalink
I do understand why guys kike looking at Kristy Lee, but I don’t understand why they don’t simply seek out other equally attractive singers who can sing. I don’t go see a Matthew McConaughey movie when there are perfectly good Russell Crowe movies out there.
October 26, 2008 at 1:29 pm Permalink
we are not built to make sense, stormy.
October 26, 2008 at 2:33 pm Permalink
I stood about one foot away from Kristy Lee on the sidelines at the Vanderbilt game on Saturday. She is obviously a very attractive woman. I will say that in person, however, her body is her greatest asset. She clearly has a pretty face, but it does benefit from television cosmetics.
October 28, 2008 at 2:54 pm Permalink
Kristy turned me off completely on Idol when she did that godawful Beatle arrangement and then again she did that Lee Greenwood song – talk about pandering. No amount of looks can help a mediocre singer
