Carrie Underwood Wins Big, Chesney Too, and Other News
- Hats off to Carrie Underwood for winning FIVE Billboard Music awards last night! Carrie took home Female Country Artist of the Year, New Country Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Country Album of the Year, and Female Billboard 200 Album Artist of the Year.
- Kenny Chesney won two awards, Country Songs Artist of the Year and Male Country Artist of the Year.
- Little Big Town announced the 2007 lineup of the New Faces Show today in a press conference in Nashville. Participating in the show are artists: Eric Church, Jack Ingram, Miranda Lambert, and Taylor Swift. Kix Brooks will host the show and it will take place during the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville on March 2.
- Countrynation.com reports that LeAnn Rimes will host the 25th Annual Colgate Country Showdown National Final on January 25 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Five finalists will compete for the grand prize of $100,000 and the one hour special will air on GAC.
- Countrynation.com also reports that Moe Bandy’s new album titled, Legendary Country, is due in February. His first singe, “Long Shadow”, is now on country radio.
Andy Griggs andTim Mcgraw are set to have new albums released in spring of 2007.
