Unfortunately I didn't get to listen to that one, but I've seen him popping up a lot of places lately as a producer and such. I'll definitely be checking him out as soon as I can. Thanks for the recommendation, Cara.

In my opinion, Foam by MMB was one of the best albums released in 06. McClure is a musical genius not to mention an incredible producer. If you have not already purchased this album, it's a MUST have CD.

[...] Dierks Bentley - Long Trip Alone Dierks is full of talent. He can write, he can play, and he can sing. Every one of his CD's has been worth buying, I haven't been let down yet. I agree with Brody when he says Dierks brings a lot of energy to the stage and to his albums. You can tell he doesn't take his success for granted, and he shouldn't, but he has worked hard, and deserves every bit of it. [...]

Stoney LaRue is definitely a good album, one of the few I actually went out and bought in the store instead of purchasing online, but Amazon had the release date listed at August of '05, so I didn't include it here. There was a number of albums I thought were released this year, but found out otherwise when I started doing some research.

I've listened to samples of McClure and he has a lot of potential, and I've seen both of them listed at LoneStarMusic.com for a while, but now that I've got a recommendation from someone I'm really gonne have to check them out.

BTW, thanks for the comment.

brody,
you're right on with your foster, rogers, boland, and cash picks. there is one glaring omission; Stoney LaRue's "Red Dirt Album". It is the standard by which all others will forever be judged in my opinion. do you consider it a '05 album or did you somehow miss hearing it? for your '07 list make sure you get a taste of Mike McClure's "Foam" and the McClure produced "Catch Me" from the Tyler McCumber Band. they surely will make my list(maybe yours) for '07. nice site keep it up.
