My girlfriend informs me that low-rise pants are on the way out, and apparently this is what’s going to replace them. It makes me sad.

sugarland’s performance of that beyonce debacle last night left me…well, cold. jennifer nettle’s voice just grates on me. her vocals sound cartoonish–the country inflections are so pronounced, they don’t feel real anymore. they feel affected. like she’s trying to sound country, rather than just be…you know, country. it feels and sounds fake. just my opinion.
with that said, i give them credit for doing the song. just for showing we all listen to all kinds of music and every genre has validity. props for that.

There are so many odd things to point out about the Sugarland/Beyonce performance. I thought it was weird that Sugarland was introduced as CMA award winners. Those pants make Jennifer Nettles legs look 10 feet long, and that performance can hardly be called bluegrass. I guess the press was willing to run with it because Beyonce said it.

Kellie Pickler seems willing to do whatever it takes to get attention. The stupid act on American Idol, the tears at the Opry and the CMA’s and now this risqué dress. I wonder what she’ll resort to if/when her career tanks.
