An Audio Interview With Kris Kristofferson
I was trying to land an interview with Kris Kristofferson awhile ago, but didn’t get much response from his label. In the process, though, they directed me towards a good interview from March of 2006 right before the release of his last album, This Old Road. I’ve listened through the hour long interview a couple of times and compiled a table of contents of sorts so that you can skip to the songs or parts that I thought were the highlights. You’ll find it below the player that follows. The interviewer is Jody Denberg of 107.1 KGSR and you can find a transcript of the interview on their website.
00:59 – “This Old Road”
05:07 – Interview Starts
09:39 – “Pilgrim’s Progress”
15:54 – “Wild American”
19:10 – “The Pilgrim: Chapter 33″ (Recorded Live)
22:37 – Kris talks about his early years
27:25 – “In The News”
33:48 – Kris talks about Johnny Cash
36:48 – “Chase The Feeling”
44:09 – “Sunday Morning Coming Down” (Recorded Live)
48:47 – Kris talks about acting
55:19 – “Final Attraction”
Here are a couple of quotes I thought were pretty good.
13:11 – “I think God takes care of fools and songwriters”
34:53 – “They thought I was either a drug addict or insane or worse, that’s what they said, I don’t know what could be worse than that… I was kinda disowned.”

Thanks, Brady. I enjoyed that.
He’s coming to Boulder in August, and I have my ticket. I’m excited. I would still rather hear Willie sing his songs than him, but I just love him as an artist/songwriter/person.

Seen him twice here in the Big Apple (once opening for George Jones at Carnegie Hall), you’ll have a great time.
