If you’re looking for grit, I don’t think Timmy is your guy. Gary Allan fits the bill perfectly, though, and I have to agree with you on the Smoke Rings in the Dark album.

I’m just testing the hype right now. The CD is already wearing a little thin on me. My musiical ADHD prefers more grit. I picked up Smoke Rings in the Dark at the same time (Gary Allen), now THAT is a damn fine album!

Dang Baron. Is this just the first McGraw album you thought was worth purchasing or did you just decide it was time to decide if the hype was worth it? I prefer a few of his previous albums over this one, so if you like it, definitely check out his back catalog.

I’ll take your word for it. I’ve never really paid attention to the number of spins and everything, so I have nothing to compare it to. Although it does sound pretty remarkable, especially having so many songs on one album getting airplay at the same time.

Only a day after its release, album cuts are already getting a lot of spins on country radio. According to the Mediabase charts, over the last week, 32 spins for “Let it Go,” 60 for “Between the River and Me,” 123 for “I Need You,” and 116 for “Suspicions,” and “Last Dollar” is currently number two overall on Mediabase. That’s pretty remarkable.
