Do you have to name drop to gain credibility? If you grow up listening to such amazing artists as they have listed, of course they're going to say they were "influenced" by them. Those who came before L&T inspired them to pursue music, write meaningful songs, pursue their musical passions, and leave everything they knew to live in Nashville. So yeah, they were influenced by them.

I'm glad they don't sound like anyone else out there right now. They have their own unique sound which I LOVE. Excellent first album too. And I've seen them live since their album and they sound just as good, if not better. Really excellent show! Really looking forward to seeing them again during the Southern Voice tour!

The music world is so stinkin competitive so people do rise and fall in "power" as many have said, but these guys aren't just pretty faces with good stage presence (though they are both of these things), they have raw natural talent, beautiful harmonies and individual voices, & the drive and passion for the industry so I think they will gain a very loyal fan base. The tweeny girls will of course be fickle lovers, but the 20's and older I think will remain loyal followers, as I know I will.

I wish them the best in everything with the upcoming tour etc.
God Bless & Merry Christmas <3 :)

I just bought Love and Theft's album and listened to it and can't find any trace of their musical influences.

Are they just name dropping those names to gain credibility?

Or Maybe they listen to those stuff but not really incorporating it in their sound.

Johnny, what you've said above seems to be confirmed by the folks at Rolling Stone Magazine:

Article Link: http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2009/12/14/lambert-bieber-meester-reflect-on-2009-backstage-at-jingle-ball/

Taylor Swift has been a pop culture icon for a couple of years now, but that never lasts forever. I think Taylor should add two vintage songs to her current set: "New Kid In Town" by The Eagles and Don Henley's "Dirty Laundry"! (lol)

^^I'm thinking Taylor's place as the supreme ruler of the tweens is at it's end already; and like many rulers before her she made the mistake of promoting the one that will replace her. Read the NYP's review of Friday Night's Jingle Ball..it's the first artile I can remember reading where the reviewer said someone upstaged Taylor and not vice versa. Of course the reviewer has always tried to find negative things to say of Taylor Swift, but in this case he may have some legs on which to base his article, and you can read the glee in his words. Justin Bieber will be the new ruler of the tween girls, and Taylor can blame herself in part, she is the one that promoted him and put him on her tour and will have him opening for her this year. Will be interesting to see how it plays out, I can't see her ceding her power and place without a fight, but she doesn't have age or sex on her side...cutesy boy wonder usually wins over the tween girl audience every time over the beauty-just-turned-20.

Hey, these guys really NEED to get back on the Taylor Swift tour if they really want to get established with today's "'tweeny-bopper" young country radio audience. All those shrieking little girls have a short attention span and memory when it comes to pop culture icons. Gloriana is basking in the light of Taylor's glow these days, well until they get replaced by some other act just like happened to Love and Theft...

<b>I recognize the name of the band from an old Bob Dylan album</b>
Hey! It only came out in 2001, it's not old.
